In the beginning of the 90’s – beside of Oportó – Kékfrankos and Cabernet Sauvignon were the most popular among the young and ambitious wine makers. Genuine „terroir” wines were made ans some of these were already aged in barriques because of curiosity. In the first decade after the political changes the foreign experiences and the greater appearance of Cabernet Franc and Merlot varieties showed a wider portfolio and the first „Bordeaux-blends” – the first great blends of Villány – appeared.
